Linking script file to html

Sorry if this is painfully obvious, lol but I'm new to this.
The documention says that the tFader.js file must be properly linked to the html page.
Sooo if I put the tFader.js into my scripts folder on my site. How do I properly link it. Not sure what I need to do to point it to the proper folder if I don't put the script in the html document.
