I have installed and reninstalled and it never creates a calendar.php. Where can I get a copy of what it should look like so that I can modify it accordingly

Hey, gjansen

The PHP Event Calendar is a great product - when the code is fixed properly. As long as it's been available you'd think the bugs that have been mentioned over and over here would've been addressed, but...

I had trouble installing it at first too. Sorry if you already did this, but after following the instructions to the letter in the sticky thread "Calendar installation problems" at: http://www.softcomplex.com/forum/viewthread_3938/ I was fine. Go to the post from Tigra - the sixth one, I believe.

As you may have noticed I've got three of my own threads that have as of yet gone unanswered. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

You may want to spend some time browsing the other threads here too, as I've found some useful tidbits on tweaking and fixing glitches in the code...

Good luck!

Mark

I see lot of tips for setting up paths to folders..

How can I edit calendar.php if I can't get the install to generate it in the first place?

frustrating..

kg,

I feel your pain. It seems the calendar.php file not getting created is an all too common issue. I don't remember if this will address that issue specifically, and you may have already come across this, but I know there was a path problem in the installation process that this thread: http://www.softcomplex.com/forum/viewthread_3938/ fixed - go to the post by "tigra". Following the instructions in that thread solved my installation problems - I was up and running fine after that!

Now if I can just get rid of the #$%@ backslashes that show in my calendar when I have apostrophes in the text I'd be happy!

Good luck!

I'm glad it helped you out!

Please let me know if you experience any issues with backslashes when there are single quotes in your calendar. Somewhere in the code an escape character needs to be added for backslashes in the calendar text and I can't find where...
