Error message, cant see menu

When I try to view the menu in the browser nothing appears and i get an error message: 'MENU_POS' is undefined.

the code ive used is as follows

Can anybody help me out, im totally stuck!!??

It may happen if:
- there is no menu_tpl.js file in current directory
- there is such file but variable MENU_POS is described with errors.
In second case if you send us this file we'll help you to find errors.
