onclickday causes "Warning: input date does not meet input date format"

Hello, I'm trying to use an onclickday event handler to do something whenever the user selects a date in a calendar. The problem I have is that whenever I create a new calendar instance, I get the alert message "Warning: input date does not meet input date format", and the onclickday event handler is never called. I get the same result using the sample code in your documentation as well as in my own code. I've tried this with IE-6 and Firefox 1.5.

Thank you for your time and effort.

Stephen
