tree in iframe targeting _parent -- how keep active node expanded?

My treemenu runs in an iframe, and targets _parent -- so the entire page is reloaded, including the iframe -- so how can I keep the active node expanded (or more precisely expand it) on the reload?

Thanks. I've had some great answers here (thanks in particular to Ulukai).

Hi Stephen:)

Have a look at the thread "expand single node". I posted my idea for expanding specific nodes there.
As I mentioned there, its no tutorial but an idea to work on further. Perhaps amb_lew could help you.
Now, if you want to keep the open/close state of the nodes, you may have to store which nodes are open in an array in another file (or post the open node IDs in an URI)
When reloading, all nodes are closed. So you only have to open your specific nodes.
