Updating Event Listing in the control Panel

I want to display date, time, & title in my event listing. However, when I update the event listing template in the control panel, it does not work..... HELP!!!

can you be more specific

What actually doesn't work, the save feature or the $date variable?

Initially, the save feature.....

However, sometime last night the save feature started working..... I didn't do anything different than what I had been doing previously..... But it works now...... Thanks
