Treemenu and Mysql Databases

HI

I have created a Perl script which is intended to be used either as a Sitemap or a navigation menu. The Navigation elements are stored in a mysql database table using the standard heirarchical structure (0) (1) (2) etc. These values and all links contained within the database are then placed dynamically into the web page from the database. The images are inserted from an $iconsurl$ value stored in the config file. The javascript I have created for this only works in IE and not Opera or Netscape. Can Tigra Tree Menu be customised to retrieve values from a mysql database and work through a CGI application which is totally dynamic?

We have special add-on for Tigra Tree Menu PRO for MySql DB, which construct hierarchy using DB data.
Is this the matter of your question?

Hi Rock - Thanks for your reply.

I would like to take a look at this add-on and see if it solves the problem. I am not sure it will though. You see, I have written a Perl/CGI application which loads a html template and populates the template with information from the mysql database. This works great, but I would like to try and get it to work with Treemenu because this would open up a whole new range of possibilities. For example, mixing my application and treemenu would allow a user to create a help file with a dynamic menu and all content called from the database into a template. In short it would become a CMS help system which people could place on their websites and maintain easily with minimal effort.

These are just ideas at present but I think they would work very well with your javascript menu system - providing I can find a solution to populating the Template from the DB into the menu system :)

Yes, you'll just need to modify the SQL queries in PHP code to mask items by the access rights.
