More Bugs (!) error deleting programs

When I try to delete both demo calendars, to have a clean start for actual calendars, I get the following.

Can't open /big/dom/xshambhaladenver/www/php_event_calendar/cl_files/data/config.php file.
Please, check permissions. For more details see Installation Instructions

I'm starting to regret that I have spent so much time trying to make this product work. Can you tell me why it is released with so many bugs, and if it is workable for actual users?

Reason for error

I just realized that the reason I got the path error is that I tried to create a calendar name with the "/" as part of the name. So the app thought it was part of the path. Looks like the name should be edited for invalid characters, for the benefit of foolish developers like myself :)
