Copy date to 2 fields

I have a form with 2 fields, start_date and end_date, with a popup calendar for each. Everything works fine.

What I'd like to do is when I select the start_date from it's popup is to automatically copy the date selected to both the start_date field and end_date field. That way the end_date will default to the start_date and not the current date. Any help you could give would be appreciated.
