Bug w/ Safari and the BACK button

Hey,

There is a bug in the Tigra scroller in Safari. If you go to the demo page of the tigra scroller... then go to google.com or something... then hit the browser's BACK button, all the buttons are now on the top left hand corner!

Is there a workaround for this? Does anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks,

wz

There is no mention of Safari browser in the Tigra Scroller compatibility list. Note: PRO version supports more browsers.

Okay.

I'm willing to buy the PRO version if it works in Safari.

But the page that talks about PRO doesn't mention Safari either.

And the demo page for pro doesn't have an example of a simple scroller w/ scroll bars so I can test if the same bug is happening in Safari or not.

Is there a Tigra Scroller Pro demo that has the scroll buttons on it? Not on-demand scroll buttons, but ones that stay on the screen? Kind of like the normal Tigra Scroller demo, but for the Pro.

Thanks,

wz.

okay... for anybody else experiencing this same problem, i figured out a workaround to it... it's not pretty, but at least it works.

if you reload the page that the scroller resides on, the scroll buttons go back to the correct position. So the trick is to make safari reload the page after you hit the back button... but to make it reload it only once (instead of over and over again).

I wrote a little script to do that, but you can write your own as long as it does the same thing. It basically detects if it's been reloaded once already, and if it has it stops. Otherwise it reloads the page. Something like this:

function doLoad()
{
var shouldwe = getCookie("stopreloading");
if (shouldwe == "true") {
deleteCookie("stopreloading");
} else {
setCookie("stopreloading", "true");
setTimeout( "refresh()", 50 );
}
}

I got all the cookie functions here: http://www.netspade.com/articles/javascript/cookies.xml

and the refresh() code is here: http://grizzlyweb.com/webmaster/javascripts/refresh.asp

you also want to put this in the body tag: <body onload="doLoad()">

It's not a perfect fix, more of a hack, but it works!

Hope this helps someone.
