is there a way of allowing the dropdown menus to run over the frame in frontpage?

If I understand the problem properly;

The menu cannot run over a frame into the next.

Shared borders Work Around

You can use shared borders, but you will need to link the .css in every page:

You will need to open the htm of the top.htm for the top (or left.htm). You may need to go under Tools->websettings->advanced and check show hidden files. Then under _borders you'll find the shared border files to edit.

Tigra Menu GOLD supports frames overlapping. See demo #5.
