how to control menu style from a css class

My menu is placed into a css class. How to make this class control it in order to avoid ajustments in two differents classes?
I tried to define some descendant selectors like:
.myclass{
width:190px;
...
}
//menu style classes inside a myclass class
.myclass .m0I0out{
background-color: #0000FF;
...
}
.myclass .m0I0over{
background-color: #FF0000;
...
}

My menu updates its background color but not its size ?!

Sizing and positioning settings of the menu can only be specified via javascript structure usually located in menu_tpl.js file
