HTML form tag in caption area
aeon - 9/15/2005 at 07:12 PM

According to the documentation items captions can contain any HTML. Reading this I tried inserting the following form code (with an appropriate action set) including a text entry field and a submit button, but with Firefox focus is lost immediately one clicks on the text entry box making it impossible to use. Also clicking submit nothing happens in either IE or Firefox.

['<b>Test</b><form name="form1" method="get" action="" > <input type="text" name="cnin"><input type="submit"name="go" value="GO"></form>'],

The same code just on the page rather than in the Tree Menu works fine.

To pass action from item link to item's content form in IE you need to set link field for the item (just a stub):
['<b>Test</b><form ...</form>', 'javascript:;'],

Firefox does not perform submit of the form in anchr tag, compare folowing HTML fragmnts in FF and in IE:
Does work in IE but FF
<a href="javascript:;">
<b>Test</b>
<form name="form1" method="get" action="index.html">
<input type="text" name="cnin">
<input type="submit" name="go" value="GO">
</form>
</a>

Does work in both
<form name="form1" method="get" action="index.html">
<a href="javascript:;">
<b>Test</b>
<input type="text" name="cnin">
</a>
<input type="submit" name="go" value="GO">
</form>
