Proper syntax to call file content
amcullen - 6/14/2006 at 09:45 PM

Can someone help me? I want to add content to the scroller from a folder an another domain. Can someone help me with the proper syntax to use in either the 'file' or 'content' sections of the scroll.tpl.js file.

For example, if I want to access a html document at http://www.sample.com/scrollerfiles/test.html, how and where do I format this?

Whenever I try to add anything to the 'file' section, the scroller disappears, and I receive an error message saying " "the script may cause your computer to become unresponsive, do you wish to abort this script?

all files must reside within the same domain. The default browser security settings prohibit javascript communicating across domains.

Thank you for your reply.

Does this also apply to subdomains? I have some blogs setup on my domain, which when created, become a subdomain. The scroller files are incorporated into each subdomain, but I would like the scroller to obtain it's content from a central source on the main domain. Thereby allowing me to update one set of files, which will change the content of the scroller on all blogs created. Any help on how to achieve this would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Andrew

Unfortunately (or fortunately from the security point of view) sub-domains also will not do.
