Multiple Menu what am I doing wrong?
MrBusy - 11/9/2007 at 11:52 AM

Yes I have read through the posts, obiously. I am going to persue an offline copy of a simple two menu in a single HTML file as recommended in another post. but here is my issue:

two menus first one is in the header file* (all default for origional menu)
in the same directory I am adding a left nav menu hence the name LNAV
and LNAV_items.js & LNAV_temp.js and LNAV.css (assumed case sensitivity is required)
Files containing the info are /School/Directory which calls 4 files via ASP Include /School/head.asp & /School/left/l_Directory.asp (center and right also follow same naming convention:
Relivant contents of head.asp:
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/menu.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/items.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/template.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="menu_files/menu.css" title="combined">
<LINK REL=Stylesheet HREF="stscg.css" TITLE="combined">
<script language="JavaScript">
new menu (MENU_ITEMS, MENU_TPL);

Relivant lines of LNAV:
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/menu.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/LNAV_items.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript" src="menu_files/LNAV_temp.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="menu_files/LNAV.css" title="combined">
<LINK REL=Stylesheet HREF="/School/stscg.css" TITLE="combined">
<script language="JavaScript">
new menu (LNAV_items, LNAV_temp);

Thank you in advance for your guidance, if you want I will be more than happy to put together a guide on how to do this sicne there have been a lot of posts on the subject. JohnC

In renamed configuration files, but the variables inside those files are still the same (MENU_ITEMS, MENU_TPL and css class names).

At you'll find the instructions for free version. They're the same (except for css part) for GOLD version.

Thanks, tried that, virtually identical, similiar error as before would indicate a typo but I don't see it. looked at items.js and menu path is correct. using the Gold_Devloper version downloaded two days ago so it should be the latest. I also tried renameing the template.js for the format of tpl.js so I could mimick the example provided. Below is the Index.htm: Any Guidance is appreciated. thx

HTML looks good.
Make sure variable names inside menu1_items.js and menu1_tpl.js
and variable names inside menu2_items.js and menu2_tpl.js

also (unless you want the same styling) menu1.css and menu2.css have different CSS class names inside
and css section of variables MENU1_TPL and MENU2_TPL is adjusted accordingly.
