Links don't work from subdirectories
Thor1212 - 11/13/2002 at 12:08 AM

i'm sorry but imust be missing something, i hope you dont mind me asking. I have one menu with two panels. The Directory struture is :
on the upper menu selection on the home page, the structure is such:
"file1.html"
on the popout link i use:
"art_Collection/file.html" because that is where i want to go.

Using one menu file (menu_items.js)
I can get down to the lower level fine but when i get down to that level, the menu.js is inserting all the levels of where i am plus the link i am using so that the link looks like this
http://www.mysite.com/staging/prototype/art_collection/art_collection/file1.html on this sublevel page.

what am i doing wrong? what should my menu_itels.js file look like for links that are at such a depth?

thanks

I guess what i am saying is how can i use one menu with relative links? so that the links stay the same whether i am on the homepage or several directories down? i am testing on a development folder on the live site and dont wish to have to keep changing links. the menu needs to apear on every page in the web site. any helpis greatly appreciated

you can have absolute links - the ones starting with slash. example:
/staging/prototype/art_collection/file1.html
this is valid file from any folders of your site.
